LPTHW - ex43 - scenes not being properly picked up

When I run ex43’s code in powershell, I’ve noticed that randomly scenes are not being properly picked up at the end of the if statements (next to return). Sometimes everything will work ok and the next scene will be trigered. But sometimes, even if I type in the correct input (I’ve added some cheat codes for the hardest rooms), the current scene will repeat itself, and the next scene won’t be triggered.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I can’t figure out why that is going on.

Thanks for your help!

Here is the code:
